These seeds are best started in pots. Pre soak seeds by filling a shallow bowl, like a pie plate, with very warm tap water. Place seeds into the water and leave for 24 hours. Seeds that sink to the bottom of your bowl are ready to sow.
To sow place approximately 5 seeds in at least an 6" pot and cover lightly with sand or vermiculite as the seeds need light to germinate. Exposed to light, but don't let your pot get too hot. Keep soil moist, but not soggy, and seeds may require up to 30 days at 70 degrees to germinate. Once germinated the seed will send up a stalk about 1" and start to create a leaf set. At this point we will cover the seed that is on top of the soil by pushing some of the surrounding potting material to the base of the stalk.
Shrub and vine seeds usually have a lower germination rate of around 50%.
