For zones 3-10 Purple Rockcress is a dry climate perennial flower that will grow in most zones as long as you sow, or plant it, in an area of your garden that get's good drainage. They will not do well in soggy areas and prefer a sandy or rocky garden area.
Rockcress is an heirloom variety of Aubrieta, and even though there are numerous mis-leading pictures of this flower online, it will only spread to 6". Sellers often post pictures of the much more expensive Aubrieta Cascade which is a hybrid of this flower and will trail between 12"-18".
These seeds are very tiny so if sowing in pots it's best to use the shaker method and mix your seeds with sand to spread. Keep moist and do not cover the seeds as they need light to germinate.
If direct sowing sow in early spring in your garden as described above, but dust with a very light topping of screened peat to protect the seeds from birds until they germinate. When using either method keep moist until germination. Rockcress will not germinate in dry soil or high summer heat.
