Plant type: Tender Perennial

Treated as a perennial for zones 9-10 and an annual in zones 3-8. These seeds require light to germinate and they are best started in pots, but you can sow them directly in your garden in late spring once temperatures stay in the mid 70's.
For pots or trays start with pre-moistened potting mix and distribute the seed on the top of your potting mix and lightly dust with fine sand or vermiculite. These need light and warmth to germinate so expose to a light source and keep in the 70's during the germination process. Once seedlings are around 2" tall slowly introduce them into your garden in spring after your last frost.
You can also direct seed in spring by sowing on the surface of your garden bed and lightly dusting with screened peat.

Essential Oil: Infuse dried leaves in a carrier oil (like sweet almond, jojoba, or olive oil) in a sealed jar for several weeks, using either the sun-infusion (sunny window) or gentle heat method (slow cooker), then strain thoroughly and store in a dark glass bottle. Always ensure leaves are completely dry to prevent rancidity and use a clean jar for a long-lasting, skin-soothing infusion.
