A Tender Perennial for zones 9-10 and annual for zones 3-8. These seeds require light to germinate and they are best started in pots, but you can sow them directly in your garden in late spring once temperatures stay in the mid 70's.
In your garden sow seeds and lightly dust with screened peat.
In pots sow on the surface and press the seeds into your potting mix. Do not cover but keep your potting mix moist until germination. Expose to light and transplant in spring once your seedlings are at least 2" tall.
Uses:
- Pain: Temporary relief of mouth pain.
- Cold Treatment: Eases sore throats, coughs, and cold symptoms.

How To Use:
- Chewing: Chew fresh leaves for relief of mouth pain.
- Tea: Steep 1 tablespoon of dried leaves and/or flowers in 8 ounces of hot water.

Tinture: Applied directly to affected area or added to mouth rinse or regular tea. To make a tinture harvest fresh leaves and wash. Chop leave to a rough cut and place in a sealed glass container covered with high proof alcohol like Everclear. Let sit for 4-6 weeks and then strain eventually straining with a coffee filter. Shelf life is approximately 2 years.
