Transplant the seedlings to the garden when they are 3-4 inches tall and the temperature at night is at least 60 degrees. To direct seed, work your garden soil 6" deep, plant seeds 1/2 inch deep every 1 inch apart and cover lightly with peat or compost. Thinning down to 2-3 inches apart.
